Sean has practised civil litigation in British Columbia since 1980. He has represented clients at all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as in the Federal Court of Canada in tax and maritime law matters. He has also appeared before a variety of administrative tribunals. He is widely experienced in commercial litigation, particularly in corporate governance, business and finance disputes.
Sean has also conducted a large number of shareholder and partnership disputes, insolvency matters and cases involving the purchase and sale of real property, representing developers, vendors, and purchasers. His other areas of interest include commercial tenancy matters, builders lien and construction litigation, family property litigation and estate litigation. He has also acted for receivers and trustees in bankruptcy, secured lenders, as well as borrowers and their officers and directors in insolvency cases.
Sean is a member of numerous sections of the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association. He is a former executive member of the Trial Lawyers Association of BC. He has lectured at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law, the Professional Legal Training Program instituted by the Law Society of BC, and Continuing Legal Education Program in finance and construction litigation matters.
